Founded in 1961, the Augusta Symphony League is a support group to the Symphony that raises awareness and educates members regarding the mission and activities of the Symphony. The League offers support to the Symphony in the form of financial contributions  raised through League membership dues, is committed to the continued growth and development of the Symphony, and members have a lot of fun along the way.

 

2020-21 Socials:

“The Healing Power of Music” Tuesday, September 29, 2020 VIA ZOOM. Mrs. Veronica Andreassen-Barker, Knox Music Institute Music Therapist, will facilitate a reflection on music and wellness in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, showcasing the power of music to help people and communities connect and persist. She will also share the work, progress and hopes of Community Chords Music Therapy for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“Journey to Symphony Stardom” Tuesday, October 27, 2020 VIA ZOOM. Dr. Angela Morgan, Assistant Concertmaster, will share the rigors of becoming a professional musician and the arduous steps to securing and retaining a position in the Augusta Symphony.

“Ludwig van Beethoven – A 250th Anniversary Celebration – The Legacy of His Music Thursday, January 7, 2021, an evening at the Knox Music Institute.  Maestro Dirk Meyer will entertain us with stories and interesting trivia of Beethoven’s life and demonstrate his innovative compositions incorporating combinations of vocals and instruments.

“A Concert: Conception to Completion”  Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Mr. Donald J. Edmunds, Augusta Symphony Director of Artistic Operations, Education and Outreach, will unlock the mystery of planning and preparing for a concert – 15 times a Season.
