Discovery Concert

The Symphony’s Discovery Concert annually provides over 1,000 elementary, middle, and high school students, including homeschoolers, with opportunities to experience a free live symphonic performance. Past Discovery Concerts include a Cirque de la Symphonie performance, Symphony of Illusions featuring master illusionist Michael Grandinetti, Holst’s The Planets with NASA video and images synced to the music, and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 7 with Westwater Arts “Czech Journeys” visual concert showing pictures of the Czech Republic.

The 2022-23 Discovery Concert will take place on Friday, February 17 at 10:00 am. Percussionists Gene Koshinksi and Tom Broscius will perform Koshinski’s own composition “soniChroma” on over 70 instruments including metals, woods, strings, and non-Western instruments that will create unique sonic colors.

The Discovery concert is free to attend but ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Further details will be available closer to the date of the concert. For more information, contact the Symphony office at 706-826-4705.
