The upcoming Piedmont Augusta Symphony Series season, SEVENTIETH, celebrates seventy years of musical excellence in Augusta. This exultant orchestral journey includes pieces by Dmitri Shostakovich, composed and released at the time of the Symphony’s founding; musical movie scores from the Symphony’s early years; and additional storied works that span centuries and continents. In addition to time-honored classics by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Mozart, this season features music by three living composers. SEVENTIETH not only features exemplary music but also showcases top-of-their-craft guest artists performing alongside the Symphony.
